Pit bulls were bred specifically to kill. They have a genetic trait for unpredictable, explosive aggression. No one can train genetic traits out of any dog breed. Fighting breed dogs will always be unpredictable. Sound, odor or movement can trigger these dogs and they will launch into a deadly attack. A common remark from owners whose pet pit bull attacks is, “He’s never acted like that before.” Dogfighting is a felony in every state so it follows the dogs should be illegal to own. At the very least, their ownership needs to be severely restricted. Liability insurance, mandatory sterilization, proper containment and muzzling in public would go a long way to protect the public from serious pit bull attacks.
Shelters and Rescue groups need to STOP pushing propaganda and lies about the safety of this fighting breed type. As you can see from the constant headlines and those incidents highlighted in this video, pit bulls are causing mayhem across the country. Pit Bulls are too unpredictably dangerous to make safe pets.
